Numbers are generated locally in the browser: cryptographic CSPRNG, the entropy of your movements, and a public randomness beacon. How the generator works.
How the random number generator works
You set the range boundaries — for example, from 1 to 100 — and get a random integer. If you need several values, specify the quantity: the site will give a series that can be sorted or checked for duplicates.
Rejection sampling keeps results fair: if a random number falls outside the range, it is discarded and the next one is taken. This avoids the bias that would make some numbers appear more often than others.
When will this be useful
- pick a contest winner or decide who goes first;
- generate test data for a form or database;
- to play a number in the lottery among friends;
- get a random PIN, code, or index from an array;
- settle a dispute: even or odd, higher or lower.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the range be negative?
Yes, you can enter any integers, including negative ones. The only requirement is that the lower bound is less than the upper bound.
How is “no repeats” different from a regular series?
In 'no repeats' mode, the same number will not come up twice — convenient for drawing lottery numbers. This mode works only for integers.
Is it possible to get a number from 0 to 1?
Yes: set a range from 0 to 1 and choose an accuracy of 0.001 or 0.01. You will get a fractional value.
